Hi everyone, hope you had a great Christmas without too many cares. Sadly, sometimes Christmas is far from care-free, with the costs and stresses of getting some people down so much that you can almost forget that it's a time to celebrate. And when it takes that extra time to finally get into the spirit of it, it can be over in the blink of an eye, just as you're starting to enjoy it.

Don't you wish there was some way to keep Christmas with you throughout the year AND be sure you'll be ready for it when December rolls around? Well, guess what, there is! From the bottom of my heart, I can recommend the Chrisco Christmas hamper club...

Chrisco hampers offer you all the food, accessories and gifts you could possibly need. With a little bit of planning, you can spend the year paying off supplies little by little. You will hardly notice that the money has gone each week, but come Christmas time, it will all add up to a wonderful hamper of Christmas goods being delievered to your house. The sooner you order and start paying, the smaller your weekly/fortnightly/mothly (whatever suits you best) payments will be.

The full range of hamper choices can be viewed online, or you can request a catalogue by calling 1800 144 662.

It may sound like a well-worn advertising slogan, but never a truer word was spoken than when they say you really can save for a magical Christmas with Chrisco.

I am not a troll, nor do I make any profit from posting this. I simply believe in this program, and think you will too if you give it a go. This is not spam.

My name is Dash and I came from Russia to stay. Now I live in Ormeau (between Brisbain & Gold Coast). I've been dancing with pois for a year & a half. Are there any poisters in Brisbane or in Gold Coast? I'd be happy to meet. Are there any shops where I could buy fire pois and fans?
Thank You.

Hi thought i'd introduce myself...

I'm located in the Newcastle area NSW and i'm a poi spinner. Haven't really been into it much lately...lost abit of motivation when i realised i was shite and someone unknowingly threw out my poi which were wrapped in plasics bags in my car...however, practice makes perfect and set backs are a part of life.

Community Healing Arts & the Circle of Life [Apr. 14th, 2008|12:32 am]

karamaia
I am working to open a family healing arts center in my community to provide a spectrum of care for infants to adults, including midwifery, craniosacral therapy, chiropractic, parent groups, childbirth ed, and workshops. My passion is craniosacral, doula care, teaching, and community organizing.

This will happen within the next year, and I am currently gathering resources, developing my business plan, and working with local community small business resources to create a solid plan and support system. I also have practitioners interested and a space lined up for 2009.

I am also a hoopdancer and teacher, and I am in a contest to win $10,000 for my hoopdance video: Gemini Hoops. http://www.clipstar.com/videopage.jsf?video=9_7002_159

Will you please vote for my video and help to fund the creation of my healing arts center? I am currently in 2nd place, and if I win this contest, it will go toward to creation of my family healing arts center and community healing project.

Thank you! I greatly appreciate your support! Your vote counts, please show your support!

Gratitude & Blessings, Kara

Afternoon! Well I just joined up so I'll do my intro..

Im Cris and Im from Brisbane:) I used to sit at the beach at Moonfest for hours watching the talented individuals...which inspired me to start fire twirling...So I purchased a staff and a month later a room mate and decided to turn it into a weapon and bent/dinted the hell out of it...I was not impressed. So i decided maybe Poi would be a better investment. Im on a pretty tight bugdet so if anyone knows where to get some at a cheaper price (in brissi) that would be really helpful.

On an extra note (something i thought was quite swish) our school is bringing in some people to teach us Poi and circus tricks! So im going to have the convienience of learning poi as a part of my education/senior cert!

Thanks guys!

Hi, all just introducing myself. I'm a 21yo poi'er from Melbourne. I haven't had time for a while, but have done a bit of sock in my room this week. Beginner? Yes, I started and did allot of practice for about 3 months then only rarely after that till now.

But why not take a look at a vid here, while you are mindlessly browsing LJ looking for some sense of forfillment:

cheers mick.

hello out there.

I've been spinning for a few years now.  I live on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.  We have a monthly meet up at Mooloolaba on the first sat of the month if anyone is interested.
I'm just starting to perform.  My next shows are at the Woodford Folk Fest which I can't wait for.  Hope I don't get freaked out!  hehehe.

Hi all!

Very excited to find a twirling community for Australia. I'm from Brissie, and have been twirling for a few years, but am self-taught, so not that great. I love it though. I even packed my poi up when I went to live in England last year. Twirling in the snow was absolutely awesome, until I couldn't feel my fingers any more and then it got dangerous and I stopped.

Anyone else from Brisbane?

Adelaide beginners [Aug. 29th, 2007|01:46 pm]

hello_kirsty
[Current Mood |happyhappy]

Does anyone know of any beginners poi groups in Adelaide? Preferably in the Northern suburbs? Or, alternatively, is there a market for me to start one myself? Just a small gathering or beginners, during the day, no fire (yet), to laugh at each other smacking ourselves in the head and help each other learn.

I've been practicing alone, but it's getting lonely and sometimes I can't get a trick and I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I could always film myself, but that just reminds me that I have noone to help me lol.

Thanks for any assistance :)

Kirsty
